Rotary operates on the motto “Service Above Self,” emphasizing ethical leadership and community-driven impact. Its members, known as Rotarians, contribute their time, expertise, and resources to projects that create lasting change, both locally and globally. Rotary also offers youth leadership programs like Rotaract and Interact, as well as scholarships and professional exchanges to cultivate future changemakers. Through partnerships with governments, nonprofits, and businesses, Rotary continues to drive sustainable solutions that empower communities and improve lives.

Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), is a world-renowned trekking destination located in Tanzania. This dormant volcano features diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests and alpine meadows to barren high-altitude deserts and its iconic glacier-capped summit. Unlike technical climbs, Kilimanjaro is a non-technical trek, making it accessible to hikers with good fitness levels. However, the high altitude presents challenges, requiring proper acclimatization and careful planning. Trekkers from around the world attempt to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point, drawn by the breathtaking scenery and sense of achievement.
The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as one of the most scenic and successful routes to Kilimanjaro’s summit. It begins on the western side of the mountain, offering a gradual ascent through untouched rainforests, vast Shira Plateau, and dramatic ridgelines before joining the popular Machame Route. The longer itinerary, typically spanning 7-8 days, allows for better acclimatization, increasing summit success rates. Trekkers on Lemosho enjoy stunning panoramic views, diverse ecosystems, and fewer crowds in the early stages. Though challenging, the route balances adventure with a well-paced approach, making it a favorite for climbers seeking both beauty and a higher chance of reaching the summit.
